The forests we own or manage are home to wildlife, adjacent communities, and First Nations cultural activities. They are also a source of clean drinking water, recreational opportunities and some of the world’s most sought after wood products. Our planning and stewardship of these forests focus on the values of nature and our neighbours. Key to our success is the ongoing cooperation and mutual respect we share with our communities and partners. Every year TimberWest donates towards environmental conservation initiatives and community based programs. We are honoured to work closely with our neighbours on long-lasting initiatives with far reaching benefits for everyone on Vancouver Island and Coastal BC.

        Camping

TimberWest operates campsites in locations throughout Vancouver Island. For the latest information about recreational access, campsites and firewood cutting opportunities on Mosaic forest lands, please visit the Mosaic Access page.

        Firewood

Firewood cutting opportunities may be available at designated locations on Mosaic forest land. For the latest information about recreational access, campsites and firewood cutting opportunities on Mosaic forest lands, please visit the Mosaic Firewood page.

We take care to manage and protect the forest for the future. We govern access to ensure the safety of the public, reduce the risk of wildfires, prevent damage to sensitive plant ecosystems, and protect endangered species habitat.

TimberWest is honoured to support local community initiatives in the communities in which we operate. Since 2003, we have donated approximately $5 million to community groups and foundations, environmental conservation organizations, and First Nation partners. We have also provided in-kind donations such as land, logs and access rights in excess of $3 million. We ask that donation requests please follow the criteria listed below, and are sent through the form on this page. We will be in touch! 彩票开奖

We are interested in donating towards projects in our operating areas that fall within one of these three criteria: Community Benefit, Environmental Leadership, and First Nation Culture.

        1. Community Benefit: includes forestry awareness, promoting safety, supporting community events, and supporting cornerstone community establishments.
        2. Environmental Leadership: includes partnerships with environmental conservation organizations, and scholarships for post-secondary education in forestry.
        3. First Nation Culture: includes sponsorships of First Nation organizations, events and community initiatives.

TimberWest takes an active role in working with organizations that look after not only the trees, but also the other values the forest supports. Recent conservation initiatives have included land transfers, fisheries enhancement, hatchery operations and provision of wildlife habitat. We are committed to Vancouver Island communities, and the continued support of these important causes. One of our longest partnerships is with the Pacific Salmon Foundation. The partnership began in 2002 to facilitate restoration of Pacific salmon streams on Vancouver Island. Since our inaugural donation 15 years ago, TimberWest has contributed over $1.1 million to hundreds of projects located on Vancouver Island. Some of our other partners include those listed below:
